In life, she did not truly understood what love was, unable to enjoy her existence and only finding a husband because she felt this is what she had to do. Dying did not change anything for her, though it freed her from fear and made her realize that what truly mattered was love, for her specifically Shadow Moon. According to Brian Fuller and Michael Green, Laura Moon is primarily defined by the fact that she is a woman without belief.
